Year 5

Welcome to Year 5 at Torkington Primary School

Meet the Team:

Our teaching team includes Miss Kempton (Class Teacher) Mr Bethell and Mrs Blakely (Teaching Assistants).

Our Class English Books this year are:

·         The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe - C.S.Lewis

·         Varjak Paw - S.F.Said

·         A Series of Unfortunate events - Daniel Handler

·         Wolf Brother - Michelle Paver

·         Macbeth - William Shakespeare

·         The Nowhere Emporium - Ross MacKenzie

Important Information

·         We have PE every Monday with Mr Bond and every Friday with Miss Kempton so please ensure that PE kits are always in school on these days.

·         Children are encouraged to read daily - Reading books and Reading diaries need to be brought into school every day

·         Every Thursday Year 5 take part in reading buddies with Year 1.

.         Swimming take place every Tuesday for the Spring Term (January - April) - Details will be sent home with more information nearer the time

.         Recorders is every Friday in class (Recorders can be purchased from the school office if required)

·         Homework is set every Friday and needs to be completed and handed in by the following Thursday. Children must also access Time Table Rockstars (TTRS) every week at home
