Welcome to Year 2 at Torkington Primary School

Meet the Team:

Our teaching team includes Mrs Mead (Class Teacher), Mrs Shafiq, and Miss Niu (Teaching Assistants).

To promote reading for pleasure, throughout the year we will read and focus on the following books...

·         Claude in the City - Alex T. Smith

·         Lost and Found, The Day the Crayons Quit - Oliver Jeffers

·         Little Red, Rapunzal - Bethan Woollvin

·         The Enormous Crocodile, The Twits - Roald Dahl

·         Never Show a T-Rex a Book! - Rashmi Sirdeshpande

·         Luna Loves Library Day - Joseph Coelho

Important Information

·         We have PE every Wednesday with Mr Bond and every Thursday with Mrs Mead so please ensure that PE kits are always in school on these days.

·         Reading books will be changed twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) Please ensure children bring their reading books and reading diaries into school every day. Books will only be changed if there is a comment from home in the reading diary.

·         Every Tuesday Year 2 take part in reading buddies with Year 4.
