Creative Goals and Teamwork

Over the past six weeks, Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic series of Friday afternoon sessions dedicated to Art and PE. The creative journey began in the classroom, where the pupils explored the work of local artists to inspire their very own "Stockport-themed" pop art pieces. It was wonderful to see them translate familiar local landmarks into vibrant, bold designs, showing great technical skill and artistic flair.

Following their art session, Year 3 headed out to the pitch for a high-energy transition into PE. Each week featured a blend of communication-based team-building exercises and football skills clinics. These sessions weren't just about scoring goals; they provided a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to strengthen their friendships, improve their coordination, and demonstrate the brilliant sportsmanship we value so highly. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and "County" spirit shown by all of Year 3 throughout this six-week programme!

Celebrating Art Week 2026 – Curiosity and Kindness

Our school was buzzing with creativity, imagination and excitement as we celebrated Art Week
2026, inspired by the AccessArt theme of 'Curiosity and Kindness.'

Art Week provided a wonderful opportunity for the whole school to come together and celebrate
creativity. By stepping away from the usual timetable, pupils were able to explore new materials,
develop new skills and express themselves through a wide range of exciting hands-on activities. The
week created a real sense of occasion, filling our classrooms with energy, collaboration and joy,
while making lasting memories for everyone involved.

The theme of Curiosity and Kindness encouraged children to explore the world around them and
their own creative ideas. Through art, pupils discovered new ways of thinking, experimented with
different techniques and reflected on how creativity can help build stronger connections, inspire
hope and spread kindness throughout our school community.

Throughout the week, children took part in a fantastic variety of creative activities. They designed
and created Curiosity and Kindness Spells, celebrating positive thoughts and encouraging acts of
kindness. Pupils crafted their own medals to recognise achievements and celebrate one another,
while colourful pavement art transformed our outdoor spaces into vibrant galleries full of
imagination.

Children also created traditional worry dolls, exploring how art can support wellbeing and help
express emotions. Budding engineers and designers worked collaboratively to build an
exciting rollercoaster, combining creativity with problem-solving and teamwork. Our young scientists
became artists as they made their own fossils, discovering how art and history can work hand in
hand. Finally, every child created a unique self-portrait, celebrating their individuality and the
wonderful diversity within our school.

Art Week was a fantastic celebration of creativity, curiosity and kindness. It encouraged every child
to take creative risks, explore new ideas, work together and recognise the positive impact that art
can have on ourselves and those around us.

We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for embracing every challenge with enthusiasm,
imagination and kindness. Their wonderful artwork and positive attitudes made Art Week 2026 a
truly memorable celebration of creativity.
