Welcome to Reception at Torkington Primary School

Meet the Team:

Our teaching team includes Mrs Pietrzak (Class Teacher), Mrs Hollinshead, Miss Casey, and Mrs Shafiq (Teaching Assistants throughout the week).

To promote reading for pleasure, throughout the year we will read and focus on the following books...

·         Tidy, Cyril and Pat - Emily Gravett

.         The Very Hungary Caterpillar - Eric Carle

·         Peace at Last, The Worst Witch - Jill Murphy         

·         Michael Rosen's Sad Book - Michael Rosen

·         There's a Monster in Your Book - Tom Fletcher

·         Oh No, George!, Shh, We have a plan - Chris Haughton

Important Information

·         We have PE every Wednesday with Mr Bond and every Thursday with Mrs Pietrzak so please ensure that PE kits are always in school on these days.

·         Reading books will be changed twice a week (Monday and Thursday) Please ensure children bring their reading books and reading diaries into school every day. Books will only be changed if there is a comment from home in the reading diary.

·         Every Tuesday Reception take part in reading buddies with Year 6. Sharing Stories book will be swapped on this day with their buddies

.         Homework is set every Friday and handed in on the following Thursday
