Welcome to Year 3 at Torkington Primary School

Meet the Team

Our teaching team includes Mrs Dobbin (Class Teacher), Mrs Sykes, Mrs Denton and Mrs Thompson (Teaching Assistants).

To promote reading for pleasure, throughout the year we will read and focus on the following books...

·         The Spy who loved school dinners, There's a Werewolf in My Tent! - Pamela Butchart

·         Dragon Mountain, Space Blasters - Kevin Tsang

·         The Sheep-Pig, The Hodgeheg, The Queens nose - Dick King-Smith

·         Libby and the Parisian puzzle, Libby and the Highland Heist - Jo Clarke

·         Being You: Poems of positivity, The Bible in 100 words - Daniel Thompson

·         The Boy who grew Dragons, The girl who spoke to Whales - Andy Shepherd

Important Information

·         We have PE every Monday with Mr Bond and every Tuesday with Mrs Dobbin so please ensure that PE kits are always in school on these days.

·         Children are encouraged to read daily - Reading books and Reading diaries need to be brought into school every day. Reading diaries are checked every Wednesday.

·         Every Tuesday Year 3 take part in reading buddies with Nursery.

·         Homework is set every Friday and needs to be completed and handed in by the following Thursday. Children must also access Time Table Rockstars (TTRS) every week at home

.         Swimming take place every Tuesday for the Summer Term (April - July) - Details will be sent home with more information nearer the time
