Sports Grant

What is the P.E and Sport Grant?

The PE and sport premium is a government funding stream designed to help primary schools. This extra funding is allocated directly to schools and is based on the number of children we have on role in Years 1-6.

The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2021 to 2022 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. Information on how much PE and Sports premium funding we have received and how it has been spent is detailed in the attached document.

We are, at Torkington Primary, encouraging pupils to live a healthy lifestyle, and raising attainment and aspirations of our pupils.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the closure of schools in March 2020 we were unable to effectively spend all of our 219 -2020 funding. We intend the underspend to be used to fund Teach Active and addition  PE resources.
